Both are community-created magazines produced from the stories, places, and photos submitted through their community websites.
About the position:
We are looking for a seasoned Linux Administrator (LAMP) capable of helping us manage and scale our technology infrastructure as our core businesses grow. We are currently running two separate server clusters totaling 15 servers. Ideal candidates will be located in the San Francisco Bay Area and able to work in downtown SF, and willing to work first on a consultative basis before potentially transitioning into a full-time role.
Responsibilities:
• Designing, planning and maintaining continued improvements of the corporate data center, core infrastructure services, disaster recovery systems, and backup strategies
• Installing, configuring and updating new hardware and software
• Security auditing and monitoring
• Working with the 8020 engineering team to design and implement a scalable infrastructure
• Setup and maintenance of Apache 2 and memcache servers
Requirements:
• Experience managing a network of CENTOS 4/5 servers
• Experience managing a WHM/cpanel
• Experience with CVS/SVN and PHP 5
• Experience with master-slave replication of MySQL databases
Bonus nice-to-haves:
• Working knowledge of MySQL administrative tasks
• A good understanding of general networking (protocols, topology) and mail servers
• You like to take photos or have some good travel stories
• A sense of humor, empathy for online communities
